Diesel Engine
X
| This engine was built with conventional side valves, both inlet & exhaust, but to enable compression pressures suitable for a diesel, had a rocker operated piston above the valves, which when depressed, encroached on the valve cavity, raising the compression ratio. The added complication of an extra camshaft, rockers etc, plus the energy required to activate, hardly compare as an improvement over a conventional ohv diesel engine layout. |

Monovalve Diesel
X
| Although a four cycle diesel engine, this engine had only one valve for both inlet and exhaust. Both engines are early 30s vintage. |
